All Roads Lead to Opelika with Stephanie Stuckey, CEO of Stuckey's Americana roadside icon

The Opelika Chamber brings CEO of Americana roadside oasis (and home of the famous pecan log), Stuckey’s, Stephanie Stuckey, to Opelika to share her winding journey to buying back the family business and her commitment to revitalizing nostalgia, redefining travel & exploring the backroads of small-town America.

Stuckey will be headlining the Opelika Chamber’s luncheon on Thursday, November 4th at 11:30 AM at the Bottling Plant Event Center in the heart of downtown Opelika. This event is open to the public, but registration is required. Opelika Chamber members receive discounted tickets. Deadline to register is Monday, November 1st at 5 pm.

Opelika is full of hidden gems. From our historic downtown full of unique shops & eateries, to renowned favorites like Mrs. Story’s, to cinematic landmarks like the textile mill & Golden Cherry Motel, there are places to see and celebrate right here at home. Stephanie’s unique perspective of redefining travel will give all attendees a renewed hope in what we love about Opelika, but also some ideas of how we can drive tourism and economic impact by capitalizing on our hometown favorites.

As a thank you for Stephanie's willingness to travel and speak with our group, we will be raising money for her charity of choice, the Society for Commercial Archeology. Raffle tickets will be available for $1 per ticket, so bring your dollar bills, or add them to your cart during registration. 20+ prizes will be raffled off with a minimum value of $30 each. Grand prize will be a Stuckey's Mystery Prize Box valued at $100.

This event is brought to you by the Women's Business Council of the Opelika Chamber and is made possible by the following sponsors:

In November 2019, Stephanie pivoted and bought the family business BACK after 50 years and assumed the role of CEO.  Stephanie’s achievements include being named one of the 100 Most Influential Georgians by Georgia Trend Magazine and a graduate of Leadership Atlanta. She is active in her community and serves on many nonprofit boards, including the National Sierra Club Foundation, EarthShare of Georgia, and her local zoning review board.

About Stuckey's:
Stuckey’s has been the face of small-town America & roadside tourism for 84 years. Best known for their pecan logs, Southern hospitality, and candies, but more importantly, being a roadside oasis since 1937, Stuckey’s offering motorists a friendly stop where they can relax, refresh & refuel. The company was founded by Stephanie’s grandfather, W.S. Stuckey, Sr. in Eastman, Georgia in 1937 and grew into over 350 stores by the 1970s. The company was sold in 1964 but is now back in family hands under Stephanie Stuckey’s leadership and is poised for a comeback.
